15.1 in general

We use services from various companies to express interesting offers online. Your user behavior is analyzed on our website and websites of other providers in order to be able to display online advertising tailored to you.

Most technologies for tracking your user behavior ("tracking") and the targeted display of advertising ("targeting") work with cookies (see also section 11), with which your browser can be recognized via various websites. Depending on the service provider, it is also possible that they are recognized online even when using different devices (e.g. laptop and smartphone). This can be the case, for example, if you have registered with a service you use with several devices.

In addition to the data already mentioned, which occurs when accessing websites ("logfile data", see section 10) and when using cookies (Section 11) and which can get to the companies involved in the advertising networks, the following data flow in particular the selection of the most potentially relevant advertising for you:

  • Information about your person you have given when registering or using a service of advertising partners (e.g. your gender, your age group);
  • User behavior (e.g. searches, interactions with advertising, types of websites visited, considered and acquired products, subscribed newsletters).

We and our service providers use this data to recognize whether they belong to the target group we mentioned and take this into account when selecting advertisements. For example, after you have visited our site, you can be kept up to you when you call up other pages of the products you consult ("Re-Targeting"). Depending on the extent of the data, a user profile can also arise that is automatically evaluated, and the displays are selected in accordance with the information stored in the profile, such as belonging to certain demographic segments or potential interests or behaviors. Such ads can be presented on various channels, which in addition to our website or app (as part of the OnSite and in-app marketing) also includes advertisements that are conveyed via the online advertising networks we use such as Google.

The data can then be evaluated for the purpose of billing with the service provider and to assess the effectiveness of advertising measures in order to better understand the needs of our users and customers and to improve future campaigns. This can also include the information that the presentation of an action (e.g. visiting certain sections of our websites or sending information) is due to a specific advertising display. We also receive aggregated reports from advertising activities and information about how users interact with our website and our ads.

You can revoke your consent at any time by rejecting or switching off the relevant cookies in the settings of your web browser (see section 11). Further options for blocking advertising can also be found in the information of the respective service provider, such as at Google.

The image data is only considered if there is suspicion of illegal behavior. Otherwise, the image recordings are automatically deleted after 72 hours.

For the provision of the video surveillance system, we rely on a service provider that can have access to the data if necessary for the provision of the system. If the suspicion of illegal behavior is obtained, the data can then be passed on to the necessary extent to enforce claims or for a display reimbursement to consulting companies (in particular our law firm) and authorities.
